So does the audience: the characters visit them between scenes to answer questions until, before the last act, the audience fills out its Whodunnit forms, and the best guess wins a prize! Do you read mysteries and solve the case before the answer is revealed? Miss Murple’s Last Case is a comic spoof on all those mystery genres and games from Clue to James Bond to Dashiell Hammett! Southborough Golf Club and ALS One are again teaming up with our Town for the annual Heritage Day weekend event to remember our friends Brian Shifrin and John Wilson. That weekend, Saturday through Monday, Southborough Golf Club will be donating $10 from each player’s greens fees to ALS One in memory of Brian and John. With the wet summer, the grass is green and the course has never been in better condition, so take some time Heritage Day weekend to enjoy our local resource and support a great cause. What started four years ago as a weekend event to promote the course and showcase its re-construction as part of the Public Safety project has certainly come a long way! Brian and John both played key roles in making sure golf continued at the course following the Town’s acquisition of the property and this is a great way to remember them, and their contributions to our community. Please call the pro shop at 50 for tee times – tee times can also be booked on line at (select the “Book a Tee Time” link).ĭonations to ALS One beyond the $10 greens fee donation for those playing, or for those unable to play, are graciously accepted and can be made anytime through ALS One’s website at Stay tuned for more details as the event gets closer. (The only one I know about so far is the annual Friends of the Southborough Library Book Sale across the street.) The event usually includes some entertainment on the field (like bouncy houses) and nearby activities by community groups. (Registration for participants and details have yet to be posted, but that generally steps off at 10:00 am.) And it features Southborough’s biggest annual community parade, which ends near the field. It generally has far more exhibitors than Summer Nights. In contrast to Summer Nights, the daytime event doesn’t have fireworks or a big concert. Booth location will be communicated upon check-in the day of the event.
